I’m starting anew. I’ve created this blog to document my journey, from leaving this high-paying, high-flying corporate job to doing the things I love to do (and hopefully earn some, if not alot, of money while doing it). While this is partially inspired by alexthegirl, a part of me wants to record all that is going to happen and hopefully be an inspiration to another frustrated soul, dying to leave the corporate world.
But first things first, I’ll be handing in my resignation to my dear boss tomorrow. Wish me luck!
Also, I’ve yet to tell my parents about what I’m about to do tomorrow. I know… I’m old enough to make my own decisions. But being brought up with filial, traditional Chinese values, I still need my parent’s blessings. Deep down, I know they’ll be supportive, probably will take a while after the initial shock and dissapointment. I do hope they understand.

Was dreading on doing my tax filing and decided to read up a bit on your blog. Ala, you’ve not really spilled out the beans yet as why you’re leaving your job!
Apart from the fact you didn’t like your job, I couldn’t find any! Must be something else then! hahaha. It’s okay, I’ll just keep up with your blog from time to time.

hahaha is “not liking my job” not a good enough excuse to quit?
My logic is… when you don’t like your job, you won’t put your all into it. When you don’t put your all into it, you won’t do well. When you don’t do well, you don’t get rewards or a raise or a sign of appreciation. Now because you’re only doing a mediocre job and not getting any appreciation for it, you’ll continue into the demotivating spiral of “not liking your job” and doing poorly and feeling bad for it.
Resigning is my way to get out of that vicious cycle, take time off to clear my head and recourse my career goals and aspirations…
